The French driver spun at the exit of the tunnel. Alesi suffered no damage, but the impact caused extensive damage to the front of the 1969 car
Alesi and the curse of Monte Carlo. The Frenchman from Avignon was involved in an accident in the 2026 edition Monaco Historic Grand Prixin which a Ferrari 312 F1 was seriously damaged. According to the images released online, Alesi ended up spinning at the entrance to the chicane which follows the exit from the tunnel, causing extensive damage to the front of the car. No consequences for the pilot, who emerged unharmed from the accident. The damage to the car was more extensive, considering the historical value of the 1969 single-seater then driven, without achieving memorable results, by drivers Chris Amon and Pedro Rodrìguez. Today’s incident is not the first race inconvenience that has seen Alesi as protagonist in the annual race on the Monegasque circuit reserved for historic cars, given the previous one in 2021 which occurred while he was leading with the Ferrari 312B-74 by Niki Lauda. A taboo that dates back to the days of his active career as a driver, where bad luck and technical problems led to retirement in the 1990, 1994 and 1995 editions, with the peak reached in 1996 when a mechanical problem shattered the chances of victory giving the green light to Olivier Panis’s only Formula 1 triumph.
