“The goal was not just to deliver a beautiful old piano, but to make audible what a concert grand piano really sounded like in Wagner’s time,” says the studio.
On Friday, May 8, the restored grand piano will be played again for the first time during an inauguration concert by Frank Braley. Afterwards, the instrument returns to Germany, where it is once again given a place in Wagner’s historic home.
