On Sunday morning around 1:30 a.m., the fire department was alerted to Breite Straße 48 in Ludwigsfelde in the Teltow-Fläming district.
A historic half-timbered house made of clay, straw and wood was on fire. The fire department had difficulty getting to the building.
The burning building could not be saved: it collapsed during the extinguishing work. According to initial findings, the half-timbered house was said to have been empty.
The fire department was able to prevent the flames from spreading to other buildings. The Brandenburg police are now investigating how the fire started.
