Do not deviate from his path. He was an exemplary person with both his Beşiktaş stance and his manhood. May God grant me such a journey. I have never seen a single person who spoke badly behind his back.” he said.
General Secretary Uğur Fora stated that Hikmet Çapanoğlu was an exemplary person and said, “There are clubs that are decades old in our country and in the world. What makes these clubs big and a community is the values added by the people in them, the combination of the character, hard work and nobility of those people under the roof of the club. In addition to his successes, Hikmet brought us together with his sadness. He was a very noble, elegant, hard-working and moral person. Today, we are bidding him farewell with his loved ones on his last journey. I wish God’s mercy on him. I would like to thank him very much for his efforts without any financial reward for Beşiktaş Club, our community and our students. May God bless him, I offer my condolences to his family, loved ones and our community. he said.
Manager Toygun Batallı said, “I offer my condolences to the grieving family, relatives, Beşiktaş community and colleagues. I had the opportunity to work with Hikmet for a short time. During this time, I witnessed his love for Beşiktaş and his respect for his job. I also saw that he instilled his love for Beşiktaş in the athletes he trained. God takes his beloved servants with him. Unfortunately, it was too early.” he said.
Mustafa Çapanoğlu, the older brother of Hikmet Çapanoğlu, who had difficulty speaking and could not hold back his tears, stated that his brother entered Beşiktaş’s door when he was a child and said, “My brother was an incredible Beşiktaş player. It is beyond words. Our club lost a great Beşiktaş player.” He commented:
Önder Karaveli, one of the former coaches of Beşiktaş, stated that he had the most painful day in Dolmabahçe and said, “Beşiktaş lost one of its most beautiful children. Hikmet and I spent our childhood and youth together. We spent the morning for the match together, cheered in the stands, played ball. He was a brother of ours who wore the glorious jersey of Beşiktaş very well and whose blood flowed black and white. We lost a very special Beşiktaş player. This is our home. We were very happy here. “We had good days, there were days when we lost matches and championships, but I have never experienced such a painful day. This is the most painful day I have experienced here, Hikmet was a very precious brother.” he said.
After the ceremony, Hikmet Çapanoğlu’s coffin, wrapped in the Beşiktaş flag, was carried to the hearse on the shoulders of his students.
Following the ceremony, Çapanoğlu’s body will be buried in Ortaköy Cemetery, following the noon prayer at Sinanpaşa Mosque.
