SM league player Oskari Manninen moves to the ranks of Helsinki IFK, the club announces in the message service X.

Earlier on Friday, Tappara had announced that he had terminated the player contract with Manninen. Moments later, HIFK said they had acquired Manninen.

Manninen, 32, signed a contract with HIFK for the rest of the season. Manninen, who operates as a defender, will be in HIFK’s lineup against Sport tomorrow, Saturday.

– We needed a defender who can help us right away. The defensive head’s absences will affect until February and we are satisfied that we reached an agreement with Oskar, HIFK’s sports director Tobias Salmelainen said in the club’s press release.

HIFK said after Christmas that Petteri Lindbohm, Luke Martin, Kasper Kotkansalo and Einari Luhanka are on the sidelines due to injuries.
