The website looks reliable, there are excellent reviews on it and the telephone operator is also very nice. Nothing indicates that the plumbing company with which Jimmy Reinders from Amsterdam came into contact is not pure on the bone. Yet he had to pay around 5,100 euros for a simple unblocking job, considerably more than is normal for it.

“I never expected that something like that would happen to me,” says Reinders. At the beginning of January he noticed that his tap leaked and the sink was constantly full. He asked a friend if he knew a good plumber. “He told me that I had to have Bouma CV from Duivendrecht. He had good experiences with that.”

Google

No sooner said than done. Reinders visits the renowned company via Google and clicks on the top link that appears on its screen. “Afterwards, that link was not to be referred to a site of Bouma CV, but to another plumbing company. It was probably due to advertisements at the top of Google.”

Unsuspectingly, he contacts the company and within 45 minutes there are two men at the door. “I was kindly helped and heard a lot of sound coming out of the kitchen, so I thought: they are probably working hard.”

Pay directly

After about 20 minutes the men are ready. They ask Reinders to pay directly at the door, because according to them that is common. “They told me that I could declare everything to the VVE and that I would receive an invoice later. Yet I was shocked when they said what to pay for them.”

In this video, Jimmy Reinders tells what exactly happened to him:
