Hidden for centuries, the secret imperial tunnel under the Colosseum is now open to the public

Later this month, Romans and tourists will be able to take a look at a tunnel under the Colosseum for the first time. The ‘passage of Commodus’ was used by emperors during Roman times to enter and leave the amphitheater unseen. The tunnel was hidden for centuries and has been extensively restored in recent years.
