Actually, Wilfred Genee hadn’t counted on it anymore: a performance by Prime Minister Mark Rutte in his ratings hit Today Inside. Although it is one of the most popular programs among conservative viewers, the presenter suspected that the prime minister would not dare to do so.

Angela de Jong previously tipped the prime minister that it would be a very strong step for him to go to VI, and Rutte is now going to do that. Despite the fact that Johan Derksen has been quite critical of him lately.
The news was announced yesterday in Today Inside. Wilfred: “It is a pity that Johan is not here today, because what will happen this afternoon? I get a call from the editors and they say to me: ‘Wilfred, we just got a message and a video.’ We keep saying here, including Merel: ‘They don’t dare join the VVD.’”
Johan was not present in VI yesterday due to illness.

René: “Then he’s out of luck!”
Wilfred: “No, shame! It would have been fun otherwise, wouldn’t it?”
René laughs a little later: “Otherwise we’ll put him next to the bar!”

All joking aside: the prime minister will be there on Monday 13 March, two days before the elections. Table guest Job Knoester: “I think he will do great. He lets that slide too. He is fast. That will be nice TV. If anyone can tackle him, it’s you, Wilfred.”
Wilfred: “It’s all with me?”
Job: “Yes, otherwise you will disappoint me.”
