The French Football Federation appointed Herve Renard as the coach of the women’s national team.
In the statement made by the federation, it was noted that the 54-year-old experienced technical man will take the national team to the 2023 FIFA World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games to be held in Paris, the capital of France.
Renard will face his first test in his new role against Colombia on April 7 and Canada on April 11.
Saudi Arabia, coached by the French coach, had the first big surprise of the tournament by beating Argentina 2-1, one of the favorites, in the first match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. At Renard’s request, his contract with Saudi Arabia was mutually terminated yesterday.
