Hertha’s end as a Bundesliga club should be the beginning of the mission resurgence. These young Herthaners want a regular place in league 2 and these players want to leave.

At the season finale in Wolfsburg (3:30 p.m., Sky), Hertha coach Pal Dardai’s team (47) wants to say goodbye to the league as a relegated team. The coach: “We want a good result.”

At the same time, the personal casting for the new season begins in Wolfsburg. Because of many injuries, talents get the chance to show themselves on the Bundesliga stage and to be recommended for the second division squad.

BZ learned: Because with Filip Uremovic (26), Marton Dardai (21) and Agustin Rogel (25) three central defenders are injured, defense jewel Pascal Klemens (18) should celebrate his professional debut. Midfield six Veit Stange (19) and playmaker Ibrahim Maza (17) are also available.

There are also farewells: Chidera Ejuke (25) and Stevan Jovetic (33) are leaving. Captain Marvin Plattenhardt (31), Dodi Lukebakio (25), Lucas Tousart (26), Suat Serdar (26) and goalkeeper Oliver Christensen (24) are candidates to leave.
