After two years, Paul Seguin (30) will probably leave FC Schalke 04 and switch to Berlin. According to “Sky”, the midfielder agreed with Hertha BSC. It will bring a small transfer to the S04.
Seguin’s market value fell for the second time since moving to the royal blue in the past second division season. The Magdeburger, born in 2023, came from Union Berlin with an assessment of 2.5 million euros, and at the end of last year it went down to EUR 1.2 million. Seguin will not be able to keep this value in the upcoming market value update on June 17th.
With only one year of the contract period, Schalke will probably only have a lower amount than the 750,000 euros paid at Union. “Sky” assumes a transfer of 500,000 euros for the return to Berlin to the city rival Hertha. However, an agreement between the old lady and Schalke had not yet been reached. However, this can be expected around the Pentecost days. The contract is Berlin to then be valid for two years to 2027 and also contain an option for extension.
In Berlin, Seguin would meet ex-coach Stefan Leitl, under which the player played more than 100 games at Greuther Fürth during the time together-as many than under no other coach. At Schalke 04, Seguin was a regular player most of the time and sometimes also wore the captain’s armband. In 57 games, the former junior international scored six goals. He prepared nine goals for his colleagues. Five assists in the current season were the second men of all Schalke professionals.
