As long as the players don’t make any absurd demands and Bayern are afraid of being ridiculed afterwards like Fiete Arp did, the transfer for 10-12 million is an absolute no-brainer, one would think.
10-12 million doesn’t sound like that much, but there’s probably at least 1-2 million in hand money on top and you’ve already reached 14 million. This means you pay 14 million for a bet on the future, because in the current team, a squirrel is unlikely to play a big role. With Kimmich you have someone who plays and wants to play every game, plus Pavlovic who is also used when fit. Behind them you have Bishop, who is also considered a great talent, but who hasn’t gotten a lot of minutes in midfield this season. He will probably get more minutes in midfield next season since Goretzka is gone, but I wouldn’t bet on that either because he is of course a completely different type of player. A squirrel would now only come in 4th place and at that age he should get as much playing time as possible to develop further. Aseko will also be joining us in the summer, as will Sapoko, who will be a permanent signing and has already played in the BL four times this season.
It would really only make sense at the moment if you bought it and rented it out straight away. Either go straight back to Hertha or go to a first division club. Investing 14 million for this isn’t exactly a no-brainer for me. Especially if you have other construction sites that, in my opinion, have a much higher priority. There is an urgent need for a backup for Diaz as well as a replacement for Kane and a decent RV.
We won’t have any big departures. You get Goretzka off the payroll, and a new player will certainly have to make compromises in the event of an extension. Otherwise you have to make sure you get rid of all the returnees with Palinha, Zaragoza and Boey. None of them shined and we will give them all away at a loss.
