1st South Korean in club history
After the commitments of defenders Marc Oliver Kempf (27) and Fredrik André Björkan (23), Hertha BSC has now also strengthened the offensive. As expected, South Korea international Dong-jun Lee is moving to the capital from Ulsan Hyundai, where he has signed a contract until 2025. Hertha is said to have used an exit clause valid for European clubs, which, according to “Kicker” information, was just under one million euros. Kempf had previously cost 500,000 euros, Björkan came on a free transfer.
Hertha sporting director Fredi Bobic said: “Dong-jun is a very interesting type of player that we at Hertha BSC are looking forward to: very fast, agile, good at dribbling, with a drive towards goal and, despite his small size, assertive and with a good header. I’m happy that we can welcome him to Hertha BSC and I’m already looking forward to his performances.”

Lee moved from Busan IPark to the South Korean runners-up just a year ago, for whom he scored 12 goals in 37 games last season and prepared a further five goals. The Olympic participant also made his debut for the national team last year, for which he has played three international matches so far. Lee would be the first South Korean in the history of the Berlin club.
