Hertha BSC: Omar Alderete to Getafe – Mittelstädt leaves the future open

transfer confirmed

The move from Hertha central defender Omar Alderete to the Spanish first division club Getafe was actually considered a failure in mid-July. At the time, the 25-year-old Paraguayan is said to have been hoping to find a bigger club in Spain than the club from the Madrid suburbs. To date, however, nothing has happened in this regard and now he has made the change, as the “old lady” confirmed at noon. Previously, reporters had Cesar Luis Merlo reported about it.

Alderete, who is still under contract in Berlin until 2025, completed the medical check at Getafe on Friday. The national player then signed for a year, according to Hertha with a purchase option. Merlo had previously even written about a purchase obligation. “We would like to thank Omar for his time at Hertha BSC and wish him all the best for his future,” sporting director Fredi Bobic said about the transfer.

The defender was loaned out to Getafe’s league rivals Valencia CF last season, for whom he made 34 appearances (two goals). However, the purchase option of 7.5 million euros, which would have become mandatory if you had participated in the European Cup, was not exercised.

Mittelstädt leaves the future at Hertha BSC open: the first two games are left out

Homegrown Maximilian Mittelstädt does not rule out a departure from Hertha either. The 25-year-old left-back made his season debut in the 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt and was not in the squad twice before that. “Of course you worry about it,” said the native of Berlin when asked the “table football“. Mittelstädt actually prefers to stay at Hertha, but in the end match practice is the decisive criterion: “Let’s see what happens next. Everything is open.”

What really amazes me: record and maxi have different strengths and you can definitely find reasons to put record above maxi (even if few here would do so), but just when you see and hear how black wants to play, that makes me think again less sense that Maxi should be behind. Especially since we don’t have any headball miracles in the storm that would benefit from the flanks. Maxi clearly fits the profile!!! better to active more aggressive play style. At …
