Homegrown player Tim Hoffmann is leaving Hertha BSC at the end of the season and moving to SC Verl on a free transfer. The central defender, who played two short appearances for the Old Lady professionals and also 44 games (one goal) for the Hertha reserves, is the third newcomer from East Westphalia and already knows the 3rd league. In 2024/25 he played 21 times (one goal) for Erzgebirge Aue on loan.
“We’ve been watching Tim for a long time and are excited about his footballing skills. It’s also not an everyday occurrence to have a left-footed player in central defense. He covers the entire repertoire of a defender for our style of play because he can play both the fine and hard blades. He was well trained at Hertha BSC and has already gained a lot of experience in his younger years. We see great potential in him and are happy to have him with us from the summer,” said sports director Zlatko Janjic.
Hoffmann added: “During my time in Aue, I experienced live on the pitch how difficult it is to play against the sports club and I find their footballing approach outstanding. Now it’s up to me to present myself in preparation and bring my qualities onto the pitch.”
