Hertha BSC: Ex-striker Sami Allagui new head of team management

17 goals in 72 games

Between 2012 and 2017, Sami Allagui scored 17 goals in 72 games for Hertha BSC – curiously enough, the ex-attacker has exactly the same record for his ex-employer FSV Mainz 05. The 36-year-old is now returning to Berlin in a new role. As the capital city announced, Allagui will take over the position of head of team management at Hertha. As the club announced, the native of Düsseldorf will act as “an important contact person for the coaching team, players and staff and will bring his diverse experience as a former professional into the daily processes”.

“We are pleased that we were able to win Sami for this important position in the team around the team. As a former player, he knows the processes of a professional team, speaks several languages, is an absolute team player and, with his professional qualities and his personal nature, will be an important link between the coaching team, players and staff,” said the new sports director Benjamin Weber. Allagui had in gained initial experience as a trainee at Hertha over the past year and a half.
