Hertha BSC confirms transfer coup

The transfer of striker Florian Niederlechner from FC Augsburg to Bundesliga competitor Hertha BSC next summer is perfect.

After Niederlechner’s agent announced a free move to Berlin on Monday, the capital city club confirmed Niederlechner as a new summer signing on Tuesday afternoon.

Sports director Fredi Bobic was pleased with the agreement with the 32-year-old: “With him we get an experienced offensive player who brings a risk of scoring, mentality and physicality,” says a club statement.

Niederlechner is leaving FCA after four years, so far he has scored 27 goals in 101 Bundesliga games for Augsburg.

Niederlechner had previously played for SC Freiburg and Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga.
