VfL gets off to a challenging start in the Champions League against Paris. But Wolfsburg is not lacking in self-confidence.
The “hammer opponent” at the start is fueling “extreme anticipation”: the VfL Wolfsburg footballers are ready for the tricky start to the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain. “That’s exactly why you play football, to play against teams like that, to be able to create magical Champions League nights,” said national player Janina Minge before the home game on Wednesday.
There is “nothing greater” for a player than playing exactly these games, “it’s brutally tingling,” explained Minge. Against a team like PSG, the German runner-up “doesn’t need to hide at all. We can beat anyone, we’ll go into this game knowing that.”
Wolfsburg gained a lot of self-confidence with last weekend’s 8-0 win against SGS Essen. In addition, VfL coach Stephan Lerch’s team is currently at the top of the Bundesliga.
