From December 15th to January 3rd, darts will once again be thrown into centimeter-sized fields in London’s Alexandra Palace, the “Ally Pally”, in front of a roaring crowd. This year, 96 players will be taking part in the PDC Association’s 32nd Darts World Championship for the last time.

There is good news for all darts fans. The entire tournament will be available to watch on free TV. Sport1 secured the rights. There is also the pay TV offer from the streaming service DAZN and the free live stream from Joyn.

A total of £2.5 million in prize money will be awarded. The winner receives 500,000 pounds (around 581,000 euros) and can take home the coveted Sid Waddell Trophy.

For the first time, six Germans will be competing in the “Ally Pally”, including the two seeded players Martin Schindler (22nd) and Gabriel Clemens (27th), who will only start the tournament in round two. Ricardo Pietreczko, who brought future triumphant Luke Humphries to the brink of defeat at last year’s World Cup, and Florian Hempel have to prove themselves right from the start. The two German debutants are Kai Gotthardt and Niko Springer.

Last year’s winner Luke Humphries will defend the title. In addition to him and the wonderful talent Luke Littler, who was in the 2024 final at the age of 16, two-time world champion Gary Anderson, three-time title holder Michael Van Gerwen and former world champion Rob Cross and Michael Smith are also considered title contenders.

The Darts World Cup starts on December 15th. There will be afternoon and evening sessions every day until Christmas. Exception: Due to the holidays, there will be a break from December 24th to 26th and December 31st. Third round and round of 16 games are played between years.
