The list of the world’s richest film directors has now been published.

The world’s richest film directors are listed according to their current income. NMEmagazine has gathered together the 20 richest directors, and the top ten of the list will not surprise consumers of classic films at least.

According to the list, the most productive film ensemble is Star Wars saga, which now includes several films and a few different spin-off series, such as the one that started in 2019 The Mandalorian.

The Star Wars series, which began in the 70s, has brought their screenwriter and director George Lucas, 79, a sizeable fortune of 10 billion dollars, or about 9 billion euros. In terms of income, Lucas and Spielberg are at the top of NME’s list, as the income level of the third richest director drops dramatically. In third place is Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit -trilogies director Peter Jackson61, who has earned an income of around 1.4 billion euros through the films in question and their related products.
