The new music competition takes place in February.

The new music competition will take place on February 8 at Nokia Arena in Tampere.

They will host the competition this year Sanni and Jasmin Beloued. Sanni is known in Finland as a great singing star. Beloued is Yle’s editor. He is described in Yle’s press release as “an up-and-coming host of Yle’s youth news department”.

– Presenting is really different from singing and I believe that this experience will give me new ideas for performing. I am sure that I will get a new perspective from this and this will strengthen me as a performer in general, Sanni describes in the press release.

Beloued describes, his and Sanni’s chemistry matches well.

– Being part of UMK has been a dream for a long time, and I have been able to work around it in the role of a journalist. That’s how I made myself visible to the UMK team and eventually I got a request for auditions and I was able to participate,” says Beloued in the press release.

– This production is full of iron professionals, so even though the task is very exciting, you feel safe. I’m also a fangirl of the sages, so in that sense it feels like a great privilege to be in this role and to get on the arena stage in front of the home crowd in Tampere, Beloued continues.

The participants of the new music competition will be announced in January.

Krista Siegfrids, Mikko Silvennoinen, Antti Tuisku, Paula Vesala, Miisa Grekov and Samu Haber have worked as UMK presenters in previous years. Last year, UMK was hosted by Pilvi Hämäläinen, Benjamin Peltonen and Viivi Pumpanen.

In the new music competition, Finland’s Eurovision representative for 2025 will be decided. Eurovision will be held in May in Switzerland.
