The super final of the Seinäjoki Tango market was just finished and the winners received their crowns.

The Seinäjoki Tango market song competition has now been contested. At the end of the exciting super final, the jury made a choice for the tango queen and king of 2022.
Pori’s Heta Halonen, 30, was crowned tango queen after beautiful interpretations. Heta was moved to tears when she heard about her win. On the other hand, 29-year-old Keijo Hietikko from Kurika was crowned tango king.

The new tango king of the crown fell to the head of the tango king from 2019, who reigned until tonight Johannes Vatjus. The crown of tango queen was handed over by the legendary tango queen of 1989, Arja Koriseva.

This year, the jury of the competition included the chairman of the jury, artist Nina Tapio, choreographer Marco Bjurström, the tango king of 2010 Marko Maunukselaartist Hanna Pakarinen and Universal Music Finland’s A&R director Marja Kokko. The qualifiers for the final and Saturday’s final competition were run by Susanna Laine, who grew up in Seinäjoki, and HP Parviainen.
The evening’s performances
The four finalists performed three songs each in the super final: a traditional tango, one percussion song and a modern tango.
Hanna Hirvonen performed the songs I love love love, Where is my Darling and Jari Sillanpää’s classic Saddle castle. Another finalist in the women’s category Heta Halonen in turn interpreted the songs I give you my eyes, A love song and Lauri Tähkän Burning.
It was heard in the men’s series Sand fairy singing the songs Full moon, Two trees and Suvi Teräsniskan Silenced love. Lauri Ketonen performed the songs Stars over the sea, Hunger of life and Laura Närhen I give you away.
In addition to the songs interpreted by the finalists, the evening also featured the first performance of the winning tango of the 2022 Tango Composition and Lyrics Competition. Eija Hinkkalan and lyrics by Arja Koriseva and Pertti Jalonen composed by That I didn’t die in vain -tango was interpreted in 2014 by the person crowned Tango King Teemu Roivainen.
