Sergino Dest from FC Barcelona is associated with a move to FC Bayern with the regularity he has grown fond of. However, someone who should know has put a bitter damper on the hopes of Munich.
Confronted with the rumors, the former Technical Director of FC Bayern, Michael Reschke, told “Bild TV”: “The boy currently has no ambitions to change.” Reschke also sees little chance of a deal going through after the season: “I’m skeptical that there will be a transfer to Munich in the summer.”
Reschke, who last worked as technical director at FC Schalke 04, is now part of the English consultancy agency Stellar Football. Dest is one of the players the agency represents.
Dest allegedly continues to be an issue at Bayern
The right-back was hotly courted by FC Bayern even before his move to FC Barcelona 2020, but decided not to move to Säbener Straße. Nevertheless, the interest of the German record champions should not be demolished. Most recently in the “Bild” podcast “Bayern Insider” it was claimed that Dest was still an issue in Munich.
Dest should fit into Bayern’s loot scheme because coach Julian Nagelsmann allegedly wants a more offensive alternative to Benjamin Pavard on the right side of the defense.
At FC Barcelona, on the other hand, you shouldn’t be completely happy with the development of the US international. Again and again the media reports that Barca should quarrel with the 21-year-old’s performance. Dest is even said to be listed on an alleged Catalan cross-off list.
If the right foot is fit, however, it usually belongs to the permanent staff of the ailing club. In 2021/22, Dest has played 16 competitive games so far. He got three assists. Most recently, an infection put the player, who learned his trade in the youth forge at Ajax Amsterdam, out of action.
