A cameo appearance in the new DC superhero film “Black Adam” had sparked speculation, and now actor Henry Cavill has officially confirmed it: he is returning to the role of Superman. He said so in a video on his Instagram account.

“Now that many of you [‚Black Adam‘ gesehen] I wanted to make it official that I’m back as Superman,” Cavill said in the video, which also includes a picture of him as Superman. “The image in this post and what you saw in ‘Black Adam’ is just a very small sample of what’s to come.” Cavill declined to give more details, but thanked fans for their patience. “She will be rewarded.”

Cavill first appeared as the superhero in 2013’s Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel and has continued to play him in the sequels Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017). Since 2019, he has starred in the Netflix series The Witcher as Geralt of Rivia.
