“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been full of monsters and adventures and sadly I will be leaving my medallion and swords for Season 4. In my place the fantastic Liam Hemsworth will take up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with others great literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for my time as Geralt and with excitement to see Liam’s take on this nuanced and fascinating man,” Cavill explains on social media.
He also addresses his successor in the role: “Liam, this character has such wonderful depth, he enjoys diving in and seeing what you can find.”
Fans of the series have not been slow to turn to social networks to show their reactions, between bewilderment, disgust, anger and rejection of the new steps taken by the franchise, which has been accused of moving away from the spirit of the books, with scripts more designed for internet audiences and further from the original story and that of the video games.
