Helpful man gets knife in his back from scooter rider, suspect arrested

The scooter rider who is suspected of stabbing a pedestrian in the back with a knife in Tilburg last weekend has been arrested. The police made the announcement on Tuesday morning.

The victim was walking on the Langendijk with his dog on Saturday night, when the scooter rider came driving at high speed from the direction of the Nijkerkstraat. A woman was sitting on the back of the scooter, who fell off the scooter when the driver took the bend towards Hindeloopenstraat. The pedestrian immediately ran with his dog to the woman for help.

When he got there, the scooter rider immediately pulled the knife. While the pedestrian tried to defend himself, the scooter rider managed to stab the man in the back. The man and woman then drove off.

The victim had to go to the emergency room for treatment and filed a report with the police.

Similar notification
It was striking that around the same time the police received a report about a scooter rider who tried to stab someone, while he wanted to help after a woman fell from the scooter. This time on the Reeshofdijk. No one was injured here.
