Hélène Hendriks thinks that Robert ten Brink really overestimates himself when he says that All You Need Is Love should be off the air for a few years after he stops presenting. “Nonsense!”

According to Robert ten Brink, it would be disrespectful if RTL 4 continued with All You Need Is Love immediately after his departure. According to him, the program must first be off the air for a few years before a possible successor is introduced. “This is not a form where you suddenly put someone else on when I’m gone. Then you’ll have to wait a few years, I think.”

Arrogant man

Wilfred Genee asks himself Today Inside wonders how his colleague Johan Derksen feels about this. “Suppose you stop at some point – I can’t imagine that because you will continue forever – can this program still continue, or do you say: ‘No, then it has to stop immediately and no one else can do it!’”

Johan then replies very fiercely: “I was so annoyed by Ronald ten Brink this morning. Robert ten Brink, yes. I think he is such an arrogant, overestimating man, and he then says with all his knowledge that if he stops, the program will have to be shut down for a few years.”

‘Nonsense!’

Hélène Hendriks, who was replaced in her program De Oranjezomer by Johnny de Mol and Thomas van Groningen, agrees. She thinks Robert is being aggressive. “Yes, no, nonsense! Nonsense!”

Johan: “Yes, ‘because without me… Yes, it is my program!’”

Hélène: “Yes, no…”

Johan: “I think that’s such nonsense. Everyone can be replaced.”

René van der Gijp: “It’s touching if you think that, isn’t it? It’s touching if you think that, isn’t it?”

‘A man of 70!’

Johan thinks Robert is too old to find that touching. “I think it’s also true for a 70-year-old man…”

René: “Oh, it’s touching.”

Hélène: “Come on!”

Johan: “If you do that about yourself, it’s not healthy. Look, if I leave here next year, you’ll put in another fool.”

René: “We’re still putting it into perspective, but he can’t do that anymore, dude.”

Hélène: “That’s difficult.”

Not a nice man

Johan points out that Robert has a bad character. “He’s not a nice man at all, René. All the people who worked with him complain about it. He’s an arrogant, nasty man. I once sat with him at De Wereld Draait Door. I think: I don’t like you!”

Hélène thinks All You Need Is Love is beautiful television. “I’m crying about it too, but whether he does it or someone else next year, it doesn’t matter to me.”

Political analyst Merel Ek concludes: “No, I think it is a program that suits a lot of people.”
