Hélène Hendriks gets a slap on the fingers from opinion maker Harry Vermeegen. The TV celebrity believes that her program De Oranjewinter strikes the wrong tone. “Talpa doesn’t do anything!”

The men of Today Inside are replaced by Hélène Hendriks for two weeks and the viewing figures of her talk show De Oranjewinter are formidable. So it is undeniable that people enjoy watching it, but not everyone is a fan. Some feel that the program does not have enough of VI’s conservative-populist tone.

Harry is angry

Harry Vermeegen thinks that Hélène should be very careful with her guest policy. For example, the former sports presenter does not think it is right to simply put Alexander Pechtold at the table, since he is a D66 prominent. He’s going to be in a movie opinion channel completely dissatisfied with this decision.

“We’ve known for a while now, friends, where the good guys are, haven’t we?” he begins. “Yes, they are with the NPO. Muddy. And RTL. Yes, full of good guys all the way up here too. But what turns out? Now they’re starting to be good guys at SBS 6 too! Did you see that, that Orange Winter? Well! Unbelievable!”

Out of the blue

Hélène is starting now too, Harry snorts. “They then invite – you have to think about it: just like that out of the blue, without any reason – Alexander Pechtold out! Well, that’s one bad guy anyway and what is he doing there? What on earth is Alexander Pechtold doing there?! Is there any news about the driving licenses? At the first intersection on the left?”

No, there is no news about that, he answers himself. “It’s the most boring business in the whole of the Netherlands: driving licenses! Nothing ever happens there! There is no reason to invite him. He has not been of any importance to D66 for so long! The only reason you can think of for him to come there is to explain why D66 turned out the way it did.”

Through the dump

That could have been the only reason to bring Pechtold there, Harry grumbles. “Then he could have explained in detail that they all failed at D66 and pushed things down people’s throats, that they should not have done that and that they were too arrogant! And that the Jetten should not fly!”

But Hélène didn’t ask about that, Harry says angrily. “There at the editorial staff of De Oranjewinter they say: no, we will get Pechtold and then he can take the piss out of Wilders again! And of course that happened! That’s the one thing Pechtold always does! While he has lost fifteen seats with his own club! Then you no longer have any right to speak.”

Good guys

Alexander called Geert Wilders and his party PVV ‘extreme right’. “That’s all allowed by Talpa and by such an Orange Winter! Come on! We’re going to add them to the list of good guys!”

Well, that’s out again. Hélène was talking about… racism in last night’s broadcast! Oh dear, a camera is activated somewhere again in Alicante…
