“I am there, I can call myself Master Patissier. I am very happy with it,” Hans responds one day after the exam at NH Radio. He now belongs to a select group of people in the Netherlands. There are only five people in our country who may call themselves Master Patissier, including the famous TV chefs Rudolph van Veen, Robèrt van Beckhoven and Hidde den Brabander.

“It was very exciting,” says the Roset’s Patissier in Castricum. “They are three debilitating days. You are working with full focus. The discharge was huge when I heard that I had made it.”

All three candidates passed

Hans is not the only one who passed the exam. His fellow candidate, Nico van Doorn of Patisserie Linnick in Amsterdam, can now also call himself Master Patissier.
