Former F1 driver Heikki Kovalainen arrived at Linna’s party without his wife Catherine from Kovala.
Heikki Kovalainen told Yle in an interview that his wife had fallen ill, and therefore could not participate in Linna’s party.
– It’s very sad for him. He had been waiting for this party and had as bad luck as possible, Kovalainen told Yle.
He said he walked to Linna’s party, because he lives around the corner with his family.
Kovalainen and Catherine met for the first time in 2002 at a car race in England and got married in Las Vegas in 2014.
The couple had a son in 2023. Two languages are spoken in the Kovalainen home and Emil learns Finnish and English.
– He understands us both. If we ask, for example, where a toy is, he can show it in either language when asked, Heikki Kovalainen told IL in August.
In March, Kovalainen told Iltalehti that he was found to have an enlarged aorta. He had open heart surgery in the spring, but has already returned to motorsport. For example, he competed in the World Rally Championship in Japan in the WRC2 class, but the trip was cut short by a violent exit.
Kovalainen also works as Viaplay’s F1 expert.
