Not is the first time that Heidi Klum has chosen to amaze – after all, she is the undisputed queen of Halloween – but for the Grammy Awards 2026 decided to overcome the concept of traditional dress. The look signed by Marina Hoermanseder it’s a engineering experiment fashion: a rigid corset that faithfully reproduces every curve of the model, creating a short circuit between what is dressed and what is skin.
The technology behind the cast: 3D scanning and modeled skin
As shown in the videos shared on Instagramthe creation did not begin in the tailor’s shop, but with one 3D full body scan of Heidi Klum. This digital model served as the basis for creating a tailored torso identical to the supermodel.
On this structure, the skin was heated and shaped by handstretched and fixed until it took its final shape. The process required millimetric precision: the leather, once dried, was sanded, sprayed with a dye created specifically to perfectly replicate Heidi’s complexion and finally lacquered to obtain an almost glassy shine.

Heidi Klum, the price of glamour: «I couldn’t sit down»
If the aesthetics were impeccable, the logistics were decidedly less so. The dress, being a rigid and inflexible structure, imposed considerable physical limitations on the model. Klum ironically admitted that sitting down was technically impossible: During the entire ceremony she remained standing, joking that his would have been a “perennial standing ovation”.
Even walking the red carpet required a coordinated effort, with small steps forced by the rigidity of the structure. A necessary sacrifice for what the model herself defined as a «Breathtaking piece». A dress created not to be comfortable, but to leave its mark in the history of costume.

The dress first of all
In order not to steal the show from the complexity of the dress, the final stylistic choice was extremely clean. Heidi Klum gave up bulky jewelry or flashy hairstyles, preferring a natural image that highlighted the perfection of the silhouette. In an edition of the event where boldness was the watchword, this look redefined the concept of naked dresstransforming the provocation into a performance of high digital craftsmanship.
