Lamens against American teen Glozman in the first round US Open
Suzan Lamens is linked to the 18-year-old American Valerie Glozman at the draw of the US Open. The 26-year-old Lamens, in the 63rd place in the world ranking the highest listed Dutch player, finds a young talent who has received a wildcard from the organization of the Grandslam tournament in New York.
This year Lamens reached the second round of the Australian Open and Wimbledon. At Roland Garros she went out in the first round. She is the only Dutch that is directly admitted to the main tournament. Arantxa Rus and Arianne Hartono still have a chance through the qualifications. Hartono reached the third and final qualifying round on Thursday by dealing with Olivia Gadecki 6-4 4-6 6-4. Rus won 6-7 (4) 6-4 6-4 against Jodie Burrage.
