Hear Mick Jagger’s new solo single!

Mick Jagger has released a new song: “Strange Game”. The single will be the theme song to the Apple TV+ original series “Slow Horses” and was co-written by Rolling Stones frontman and film composer Daniel Pemberton.

Espionage and betrayal meet British rock ‘n’ roll

The first two episodes of the new agent series will already be available on Friday (April 1st). In Slow Horses, viewers follow Jackson Lamb, the spy, who, along with his team, fights “through lies and betrayals” to “protect England from evil forces,” according to Apple’s official description TV+.

Mick Jagger on the new single: “I worked with the composer Daniel Pemberton on a great project…” As a reference to the project, the book template for the series by Mick Herron can be seen in the photo.

Mick Jagger was the only possible choice

The composer Pemberton, who was nominated for an Oscar, was also enthusiastic about the collaboration: “Working with Mick Jagger was one of the most exciting collaborative projects of my professional career. I think we managed to create an incredibly unique and original theme and I can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear it.”

Series director James Hawes explained that when he thought about the theme song for his spy drama, the only thing that came to mind was Mick Jagger. He, too, is convinced of the end result that the Rolling Stones singer and Pemberton have achieved: “Mick’s lyrics and performance captured the mood of ‘Slow Horses’ perfectly, with all the humor and zest I dreamed of .”

Gripping and atmospheric

The track has been described as a “poignant, moody theme tune” backed by Mick Jagger’s “powerful and chilling vocals.”

The series will star Gary Oldman, alongside Kristin Scott Thomas, Jonathan Pryce, Olivia Cooke and Jack Lowden, among others. You can watch the trailer here:
