Hear Ed Sheeran and Bring Me The Horizons’ new single “Bad Habits” streaming

Back at the Brit Awards in early February, Ed Sheeran and rock band Bring Me The Horizon performed Sheeran’s hit single “Bad Habits,” turning the EDM number into a guitar-heavy emo-rock track. Sheeran recently announced that he would record the song with the band. Now you can hear the new version of “Bad Habits” streamed here.

The collaboration between Sheeran and BMTH isn’t as surprising as it might seem at first glance. Sheeran has indicated in the past that he has a passion for the metal genre. And Bring Me The Horizon had also moved away from their Deathcore and Metalltore origins in the past and made more pop sounds.

Asked about the collaboration, BMTH frontman Oli Sykes said: “From the email asking if we’d like to open the Brits with Ed Sheeran, to chatting and exchanging ideas, to rehearsing and then performing and now for posting, this was of course pretty sick. But we’re all about pushing the boundaries of our own and other genres, so this felt like the perfect challenge.”

“I really enjoyed the show last week and I think people are going to really like the new version,” Sheeran added. Here you can hear the single and the live version in the stream:

Maybe there will be more metal sounds from Ed Sheeran in the future. Because he actually talked to Dani Filth from Cradle of Filth about a collaboration. The Cradle of Filth singer revealed in a recent interview that the pair are “currently evaluating some options.”

The original version of “Bad Habits” was released on Sheeran’s album “=” in 2021. Most recently, the singer had already appeared with a new edition of his single “The Joker and the Queen”. The song is a duet with US pop star Taylor Swift.
