Two people were injured in a head-on car collision near Hooghalen tonight. The victims were trapped in their car and were freed by the fire brigade. Both victims were taken to hospital. Nothing is known about their condition.
The accident happened on the Beilerweg, between Hooghalen and Beilen. Among other things, a Mobile Medical Team that can quickly provide medical assistance has been called up by trauma helicopter.
The two cars involved were heavily damaged. The accident site was littered with broken car parts. Traffic on the Beilerweg will have to detour for the time being.
It is still unclear how the accident happened.
