Florian Wirtz is still on vacation. But in the background, the final preparations for his spectacular transfer to the English Premier League are apparently long ago. As the British newspaper “Liverpool Echo” reports, the DFB star, in the service of Bayer Leverkusen, will be expected for medical check at Liverpool FC in the coming week.
The English champion starts preparing for the new season on July 7th. A test game against Preston North End is already set six days later. According to the report, Wirtz could be on the pitch for the first time in the “Reds” jersey – and thus make his unofficial debut for Liverpool FC.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had already reported a fundamental agreement between Bayer Leverkusen and the Premier League club a few days ago. According to this, the deal including possible bonus payments should reach a total of up to 150 million euros.
The “picture” in turn reports of a total volume of 140 million euros. And: Wirtz, including bonuses, should earn between 20 and 22 million euros a year, it is said. In Liverpool, he will sign a contract for five years.
Wirtz is actually still under contract in Leverkusen until 2027. With the upcoming change, the 22-year-old would become the most expensive German player in history.
