“He was no longer breathing, and I thought: damn, now I have to get to work”: Jan (60) volunteers to perform CPR until emergency services arrive

Our country needs a network of volunteers who rush to help people with a medical emergency until the emergency services arrive on the scene. Jan Meijer (60) joined a pilot project in Hoogstraten and has already received a call to perform resuscitation seven times via an app in the past three months. “How often do you get the chance to save someone’s life? If you know what to do and you can do it, then you do it, right?”
