Matti Nykänen’s friend Petteri Sveins told Yle News Sunday, how cruelly Nykänen treated his friends.

Psychotherapist Petteri Sveins was a close friend of the late ski jumper Matti Nykänen since childhood. Sveins is prominently featured in the fresh of YLE Matti Nykänen in the documentary.

According to Sveins, who had known Nykänen from the age of 12, Nykänen’s interaction and cognitive skills were deficient.

According to Sveins, Nykän had paranoid thoughts, he imagined everyone had something against him.

– He could lift the throat on the wall. This focused on other men and partly with friends.

For Nykänen, violent behavior has been explained by alcohol.

– There was now that he treated close people in a brutal way and violent manner. He was feeling sick, and he tried to swell it with the use of intoxicants. When it was not done, the pressure increased, Sveins says.
