Belgian physicist François Englert has died at the age of 93. His family reported this to the RTBF. In 2013 he received the Nobel Prize for Physics together with his colleague Peter Higgs. As a tribute, the lower sphere of the Atomium was named after him. “He leaves behind more than just an exceptional scientific oeuvre,” says the rector of the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
