33-year-old ski instructor Mike is by far the most discussed candidate of the current Winter Vol Liefde season. The reason? His impossible mother. “Maybe he’ll still be breastfed!”

The relationship that 33-year-old single Mike has with his mother Monique arouses so much amazement among viewers of Winter Vol Liefde that people can’t stop talking about it. De Telegraaf has now even published a large article in which the behavior of his meddling mother even ‘cross-border‘ is mentioned. So things are getting out of hand.

‘I love this!’

AD diva Angela de Jong thinks that that mother is also being put to the test of the makers. “I don’t believe one bit that it is all real. A lot has been staged. Yes, of course. The moment she came up on that snowmobile and those two were standing there on that mountain…,” she says Renze.

However, it doesn’t bother Angela. “I really enjoyed myself in a way I haven’t enjoyed television for weeks. I love this.”

Fury

Catherine Keyl also thinks that mother is horrible. “It’s also a mixture of anger, isn’t it, because you think: you better have a mother like that, right?”

Angela: “Some crooked toes and gloating… Yes…”

MAX boss Jan Slagter: “I’m watching and I have seen one or two episodes. I just feel bad for that Mike. I think it’s really sad. When you are so taken in and so dependent on your mother that you are a bit gaping: what do you think? He does everything for that mother.”

Breast milk

That Mike is much too docile, Jan thinks. “If that mother says: ‘You have to go to the left’, then he goes to the left. She decides everything. I think that’s sad. How old is that man? 33? My god. That’s not possible, is it?

Angela: “Then you can actually cut that umbilical cord yourself at some point, right?”

Jan: “Yes, but some people may not want that. Maybe he was breastfed too long, I don’t know.”

‘He still gets!’

Angela thinks that is a witty discovery. She finishes the joke: “Maybe he will still get it!”

Jan then: “Maybe he will still get it… Hahaha, well, there are still children watching, right?”
