The trade association Germany (HDE) has again chosen its “Stores of the Year” this year. The award winners were announced and awarded on Tuesday as part of the commercial property congress in Berlin.

In the “Fashion” category, the prize went to the new C&A branch in Neuhauser Strasse in Munich. The store sets “new standards for the staging of affordable fashion,” it said. “With its modern, noble and minimalist shop concept, the store convinced the jury. The open design with generous video walls in the entrance, the green courtyard and a lot of natural light ensure a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. The strong focus is also noticeable, for example when recycling the facility.”

The concept store of the year is on Usedom

The Pier 14 beach terrace in the Baltic Sea resort of Ahlbeck on the island of Usedom was honored as the best concept store. “A modern shop concept was created on the beach promenade, which skillfully fits into the historical context of the bath architecture,” said the jury. “A coffee bar as the point of view rounds off the presentation of international designer collections, high-quality accessories and exclusive lifestyle products.” The store convinces with “excellent shop construction” and also demonstrate that “how digitization can be integrated into the point of sale with real added value for customers”.

Other award winners this year were the Thalia Mayersche Bookstore at Neumarkt in Cologne in the “Out of Line” category, the Weinheim kitchen studio Proder in the “Home/Living” category and the Pâtiss series Johanna in Hamburg in the “Food” category.
