In the play-offs prior to the Holland Series, HCAW and Amsterdam Pirates will face each other. In a best-of-five series, the two teams from Noord-Holland will fight over who will play the baseball final. That’s what the results of this weekend have decided.
Amsterdam Pirates had to deal with Neptunus in the so-called ‘Wildcard Top’ round. Because the Amsterdam-squad lost two of the three games (4-3 win, 8-4 and 2-6 loss), they play against HCAW, which in the ‘Wildcard Bottom’ had already finished after two games with DSS/Kinheim (11- 0 and 7-10).
The first game in the play-offs is scheduled for next Thursday. The first club to win three of the five encounters qualifies for the Holland Series. This is where the national championship is decided. The opponent in the final is the winner between Neptunus and Twins Oosterhout.
