The WhiteLotus gets a third season, reports HBO. The third season follows a new resort with a new group of guests.
“I feel so lucky to be given this opportunity again,” says director and writer Mike White, who hinted at a possible sequel last month. “And I’m looking forward to getting back together with my incredibly talented colleagues from The White Lotus.”
HBO boss Francesca Orsi says it’s “impossible” not to be impressed with the way White makes the series. “His audacity to explore the uncharted waters of the human psyche, combined with his trademark crude humor and resilient directorial style, has us all dreaming of more vacation days at the resort we love so much. We are thrilled with the opportunity to work on a third season together. “
In the series, which stars Jennifer Coolidge, among others, the guests and employees of the fictional resort chain The WhiteLotus followed. The first season, set in Hawaii, earned the series 20 Emmy Award nominations, of which the series won half. The second season, set in Sicily, has been viewed by more than 7.6 million people, according to Rolling Stone.
