In the pursuit, Suvi Minkkinen has been ahead for a long time. Then comes the big appearance of Lisa Theresa Hauser. Things are going well for the DSV team.
Lisa Theresa Hauser won the persecution in Östersund, Sweden. The Austrian biathlete didn’t make a single mistake on Sunday afternoon and showed an outstanding running performance. She reached the finish in 30 minutes and 14.2 seconds.
Shortly before, she had intercepted the Finnish Suvi Minkkinen in the final sprint, who had been in the lead for a long time but seemed to be running out of strength at the end. Minkkinen ultimately ended up in second place, 2.5 seconds behind Hauser. Third place went to the Swede Anna Magnusson (+31.8 seconds).
Meanwhile, the race went well for the DSV women. Like Hauser, Vanessa Voigt made no mistakes at the shooting range. The 28-year-old improved from 32nd place to tenth. Janina Hettich-Walz missed the top 10 result in the last shooting. Because the first and last shots weren’t right, she only came in 15th. Nevertheless, a result that she should be happy with: Hettich-Walz started from 37th place.
Julia Tannheimer made five mistakes, placing her in 20th place, while Anna Weidel only made one. That was enough for 24th place. Marlene Fichtner crossed the finish line in 44th place. She also made up a few places.
