Hassisen Kone censors the verse of his famous song

After Hassisen Kone’s summer concerts, a discussion arose on Twitter about the missing verse of the song “Right has won again”.

Ismo Alanko and the brothers Harri and Jussi Kinnunen photographed when they revealed that Hassisen’s machine will return to the concert stages again in 2019.

Hassisen’s machine, which has returned to gigs, is talking on social media. The band’s fans noticed at the concerts of Ilosaarirock and Joensuun Kerubi that the band has changed one of their most famous songs.

I was subject to a reduction Justice has won again -a song about crime and going to jail. At the summer concerts, Ismo Alanko Yhtyeinene skipped a verse that directly refers to rape.

The topic has sparked a lively discussion on Twitter, because until now the song and its verses, made in 1981, have been left alone. The stanza mentioned below has been skipped by moving past it directly to the chorus.

He can’t stand without a woman, he just rapes

He is convicted and taken to prison

Under the guard’s lustful eyes

He greases his anus, it is said

Justice has won again

Concert recordings can be seen on YouTube, which confirm the band’s action at Kerubi’s gig.

Skipping the verse didn’t only happen at the June concert in Joensuu. The listeners of Hassisen’s machine at Ilosaarirock noticed the same phenomenon.

There is speculation on social media that the band has brought their song to today, i.e. 2022. On Twitter, the change is of interest to the music crowd. The decision has received surprise and praise.

Discussants believe that the band has taken into account the political and social times and decided to leave out the most suggestive verse of the song.

Iltalehti could not reach the record company to comment on the matter.

Back to gigs

The legendary Finnish band Hassisen kone was founded in 1979 in Joensuu. The original four included and still include Ismo Alanko, Reijo Heiskanen, Jussi Kinnunen and Harri Kinnunen.

In 2019, Hassisen’s machine revealed that it will make a return to the concert stages. At that time, Alanko and the Kinnusen brothers got in touch with the band’s original guitarist, i.e. Heiskasen, years later.

The band was supposed to perform after a 20-year break in Provinssirock and Joensuu, among others, but the corona pandemic canceled the comeback gigs and postponed them to summer 2021. The band has continued their gigs this summer as well.

– By the way, at the end of the gig, you said that we’ll see each other in 20 years! drummer Harri Kinnunen said after the band’s gig years ago.

In addition to the original quartet, 1981 keyboard players who joined the band have performed at the concerts Eero “Safka” Pekkonensaxophonist Antti Seppoa percussionist Hannu Porkka and a guitarist Jukka Orma.
