In the renewed criminal trial against the former film producer Harvey Weinstein, the Polish actress and former model Kaja Sokola described shattering details about the alleged attacks on her as a teenager. On Thursday (May 8th), the 39-year-old said in front of the Supreme Court in Manhattan and described how Weinstein is said to have sexually abused her in 2002 at the age of 16.
You had to be silent for the career
Sokola, who then worked as a model in New York and dreamed of an acting career, reported that Harvey Weinstein lured her into his loft in Soho under the pretext of a business lunch. There he is said to have pressed her in the bathroom and forced her to touch him intimate before he ejaculated on the floor in front of her. She wanted to scream, said Sokola via “TMZ”, but Weinstein told her that she had to obey and be silent if she wanted a career like Gwyneth Paltrow or Penélope Cruz.
The indictment claims that Harvey Weinstein has repeatedly used his position in the entertainment industry to manipulate and abuse young women. Sokola described how Weinstein suggested that he was responsible for the careers of stars such as Paltrow and Cruz – a message that should make it clear to her that she too should be to be successful.
According to “TMZ”, she remembered that he had looked in Weinstein in the bathroom mirror and noticed that it was black and scary. Despite her fear, she met again with the producer in 2004, hoping that he would support her career. There were also sexual attacks at this meeting.
Forced to oral sex
In 2006 there is said to have been another incident in which Harvey Weinstein is said to have forced it to oral sex. Sokola, who had not testified in earlier processes, now decided to make her history public to encourage other victims and to hold wine.
Weinstein, who was convicted of similar allegations in 2020, had appealed this year and achieved the cancellation of the conviction. However, the new process, which is currently taking place in New York, could again lead to a conviction. The 73-year-old himself rejects all the allegations and claims that the contacts were mutually acceptable.
The process is expected to continue for several weeks. Several other witnesses should still testify, including other women who accuse Weinstein sexual attacks.
