TENNIS – Arianne Hartono from Meppel has reached the second round of Wimbledon with her doubles partner Demi Schuurs. The tennis duo defeated Jodie Anna Burrage and Eden Silva from Great Britain in straight sets: 6-3 and 6-4.

In the second round, Hartono and Schuurs face the winner of the match between Oceane Dodin/Tatjana Maria and Lyudmyla Kichenok/Jelena Ostapenko. This match will be played tomorrow.

Hartono only participates in the doubles at the historic tennis tournament in London. She failed to qualify for singles. That also applied to Roland Garros, the previous Grand Slam tournament for which Hartono tried to qualify. At the Australian Open, she did manage to reach the main tournament this year.
