From teenage fans around the world to New York’s high-end fashionistas: ex-boy band singer Harry Styles was considered “everybody’s darling”. Not least because he interpreted the role of the mainstream man in pop music in a new and diverse way.Tempi passati. After a creative break and flying visits to Berlin, he is now back – and causing trouble.
Ticket prices up to 900 euros: fans are outraged
The soon-to-be 32-year-old (Harry can celebrate his birthday on February 1st) is being criticized because of the high ticket prices for his new world tour “Together, Together”. Fans online accuse him of greed, aloofness and selling out. Some are even openly talking about a boycott.
For his residency planned for 2026 with 50 shows in seven major cities – including Amsterdam, London, New York (30 evenings in Madison Square Garden), Melbourne and Sydney – fans will have to dig deep into their Gucci pockets: In London, tickets cost between 72.95 and 725.45 pounds in the premium segment up to around 900 euros. Amsterdam costs 830 euros. For comparison: tickets for his celebrated 2022 shows in the USA were sometimes less than $50.
Shitstorm on X: “This is pure greed”
Frustration has been venting on news channel X since advance sales started. British tabloid media such as the “Daily Mail” are also fueling the outrage. “This is pure greed,” “absolutely diabolical,” or “live music is now only a privilege for the rich” are the common online comments. Some fans point out that even Taylor Swift offered significantly cheaper tickets – a comparison that makes Strahlemann Styles look particularly bad.
VIP packages for 1,000 euros: luxury instead of proximity
The VIP packages are particularly exciting: the most expensive “Together Package” costs just under 1,000 euros and, in addition to early entry, lounge access and merch, offers exclusive exclusivity. For many fans, this is definitive proof that Styles and his management are no longer selling proximity to the music public, but rather luxury for the “chosen few”.
This shitstorm overshadows the release of the new album “Kiss All The Time. Disco. Occasionally”, which is scheduled to be released on March 6, 2026. The fact that cool guest musicians like Robyn, Shania Twain, Jamie xx and Jorja Smith accompany him on his live spree also fades away. The euphoria surrounding luxury Harry has slowed down for now. Time diagnosticians are now asking whispering questions like “Has Styles lost touch with his fans?” Or: is this the new normal in the high-end pop business?
