The decision of Half implies that on Facebook And Instagram independent checks will no longer be carried out on published information. The users themselves will verify the accuracy of the posts and information, with “notes from the community” similar to those used on X (the old man Twitter). For the Sussexes, «this risks normalizing the abuse and hate speech».

Zuckerberg, president and CEO of Halfjustified his decision by explaining that he wanted to “go back to the roots” and to “free expression”.
