Harrison Ford joins the cast of Captain America: New World Order. In the fourth installment of the superhero film series produced by Marvel Studios, the 80-year-old will be seen as Thaddeus Ross. This is reported, among other things, by the US trade journals “Hollywood Reporter” and “Variety”but an official confirmation is still pending.

Harrison Ford succeeds William Hurt

Actor William Hurt played the high-ranking lieutenant general in several Marvel productions until his death in March of this year. He first embodied the character, also known as “Thunderbolt”, in the 2008 film “The Incredible Hulk”; for the last time in last year’s Black Widow.

A newcomer to the Marvel Universe

So now follows Ford, making his debut in a Marvel superhero film. The actor, best known for franchises like Indiana Jones and Star Wars, will star alongside lead actor Anthony Mackie. Nigerian-American filmmaker Julius Onah is in the director’s chair. In the States, the strip is scheduled to flicker across the big screen from May 1, 2024. Just a few weeks later, Harrison Ford could appear again as Thaddeus Ross: The character also plays an important role in the Marvel film “Thunderbolts”, scheduled for July 26th.
